Walkinshaw was making tremendous progress and had slotted into 2nd place behind the Tony Longhurst\/Tomas Mezera Ford Sierra before pitting on lap 137 to change over with Larry Perkins but the car never made it out of the pits, retiring with engine failure and ending a very promising race for the team.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDick Johnson and John Bowe finished second to Tony Longhurst and Tomas Mezera.
